Dinoshark Premieres March 13th on SyFy

Fans of JAWS ripoffs and cheesy SyFy movies won’t want to miss “Dinoshark“, premiering March 13th 9:00/8:00 Central on the SyFy Channel. The “film” stars Eric Balfour (“Six Feet Under”, “24”) and Iva Hasperger and was produced by the legendary Roger Corman. Check out this plot:

A frozen Plesiosaur-shark baby is released as a glacier falls into the sea, and the freed fish grows to epic proportions, heading from Alaska south to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Dinoshark wreaks havoc on coastal dwellers and meets his match with American Trace McGraw, a pleasure boat captain working in the Mexican resort.

According to Corman, “Dinoshark” will be followed soon after by “Sharktopus” (with Eric Roberts), then “Dinocroc vs Supergator,” and then maybe “Dinoshark vs Sharktopus.” “The chances are 100% that you will get ‘Dinocroc vs Supergator.’ We’re working on that right now,” Corman said. “If people like it, we’ll probably do ‘Dinoshark vs Sharktopus.'” Corman explained that Dinoshark made sense; it is a prehistoric dinoshark whose sperm got trapped in ice. The ice melts after many years and dinoshark attacks. Sharktopus, on the other hand, is a bit more complicated.

He explained: “There are Somali pirates or terrorists operating in local waters in small boats. The Navy has the assignment to wipe out these Somali pirates and/or destroy the boats of these terrorists, but they cannot send in a Navy ship, because that would be a violation of territorial waters.”

“So [fictional company] Blue Water has been given the assignment to create a super-deadly but controllable — through electronic implants in its brain — creature that’s half-shark and half-octopus and can go in the waters where we’re not supposed to be. The creature can use its tentacles to grab the boat and overturn it, and the shark eats the pirates or the terrorists.”

  1. Bad CGI, bad acting. Shooting bullets into the water will do no harm, haven’t they seen Mythbusters?

It takes about 20 seconds for that girls hair to completely dry, haha.

  2. Looking forward to your review. 🙂

  3. I don’t have the SyFy channel 🙁

  7. Come on, people, this movie is intended to be beyond cheesy.
Just settle down and appreciate the fact that this is a freaking half-shark half-dinosaur wreaking havoc on society. I mean, that’s pretty epic.
