Shark in Venice Trailer – Airs 12/14 on Sci-Fi Channel
The fine folks who gave us Shark Attack, Shark Attack 2, Shark Attack 3: Megalodon, Shark Zone, and Raging Sharks are now giving us Shark in Venice, a motion picture that combines the absurd notion of a huge man-eating shark prowling the polluted waters of the Venice canals with the even more absurd notion that people want to watch movies starring Stephen Baldwin. The “film” also features Vanessa Johansson, older sister of Scarlet Johansson. Check it out for a laugh or two … Thanks to Sharknut for the heads up!
Shark in Venice airs on Sunday, December 14 on the Sci-Fi Channel at 9 pm CST

Review of The JAWS Log
Writer/actor Carl Gottlieb tells the entertaining story of how Jaws made its torturous, and now legendary, journey from the pages of a best-selling novel to movie theater screens across the United States and cinema history.
It’s embarrassing for me to admit that it has taken me 33 years to get around to reading Carl Gottlieb’s The Jaws Log, a behind-the-scenes journal of the making of what I consider to be the greatest movie ever made.

MonsterQuest : Jaws in Illinois
Airs Wednesday October 29 09:00 PM on The History Channel
UPDATE: Also airs Thursday, October 30 01:00 AM
One of the deadliest predators in the ocean, the Bull Shark, can tolerate fresh water. It can swim hundreds of miles upstream–one strange photo from the 1930s suggests that sharks can even reach Illinois. Come along with our team as they look for proof of sharks in freshwater, uncovering a deadly attack from history, and searching the bayous of Louisiana for predators. Watch as another expedition finds living evidence of a massive beast as big as a Great White Shark in the St. Lawrence River.

Shark Man of Montauk
It’s been a couple weeks since Frank Mundus (an inspiration for Quint) has passed away, but I found an interesting retrospective article about him and his book, Captain Frank Mundus, Shark Man: Master Hunter of the Deep. Here’s what the post author had to say about the book:
“That book was full of tales of Mundus as a youth, learning to fish off Long Island, getting in scrapes with the sea and its sometimes dangerous denizens. Deep dark, cold waters is where Mundus explored his limits and that of the beasts he sought. Shark Man was a book I read over and over again. I think the last time I picked it up was when I was 15 or 16. This was tales of danger and excitement, this book excited my imagination and got me wishing I was out there, hard living and hard playing (I know I was just 7, but you have to appreciate I had a vivid imagination.)”.
