Its been a dream of mine to see Jaws in the cinema since I was about 4 or 5 years old but it never seemed to be shown anywhere outside of the US and even then just a couple of showings every now and then.

Tomorrow I’ll be making this dream a reality with the newly restored version showing in Cardiff, Wales…and I’m perhaps a little more excited about it than a 34 year old grown man should be…although I’ll probably miss the end as I slip into a diabetic coma from all the sweets and popcorn!

    Should be fun!

    Well that was superb!!!

I think its fair to say that old Bruce has never looked so good on any screen…I’m blind and even I can see what a good job they’ve done on this restoration!

As a plus point my partner went in there going on about how Jaws isn’t the least bit scary and then promptly shat herself when Ben Gardner’s head pops out of the hole in the boat! I have a sneaking suspicion that she might have enjoyed it more than she’d like to admit!

Can’t wait for the blu-ray release now…just need to buy myself a blu-ray player now…

I saw JAWS last October in the cinema and it was a nice looking new print but it had the sound re-mix (to me, it ruined the whole show).
So how’s the sound on this new remastered print? If it has the low sounding cello at the very beginning, the Discovery Channel whale sound, the gun shots that sound unatural, the sound of the shark crashing thru the Orca’s cabin,or the oxygen tank exploding that sounds like a car crash, I’m going to be greatly dissapointed to say the least. Well, all I can do is hope there’s no change to the SUPREME sound elements from 1975. Maybe they will have the seperate mono track included.
