From time to time I come across obscure articles about a shark attack in the great lakes.Supposedly someone lost an arm.I have also researched records that have bull sharks caught in the Mississippi river near St Louis Mo.I am also aware of many, many tales of odd or questionable presumed drownings and vanishings on the river. It would be very interesting if Discovery,or shark week would go in more depth into upper Mississippi bull sharks.

Matawan Creek is the spawning point of the Jaws story. It would be fascinating ,if done right,a new story or movie of shark attacks in
fresh water waterways and or the Great Lakes.Look at the Woodshole incident with the trapping of a Great White in the lagoon, and creek area.It is obscure supposedly safe area’s like this that can inspire a chill up the spine when we learn that large toothed predators can be in there with you. 8O

The only shark really that could survive in fresh water long enough would be the Bull Shark. It may be possible for one to wander up that far north I suppose, but as a species they could never colonize it since I am pretty sure a Bull Shark could not survive a winter in a Great Lake–thankfully :)
