    I tried ti Google his name bit could not conferm if he was real or not. Was he really a baseball player who was killed by a shark in the U.S.S Idianapolis?

    I thought yall would know who i was talking about. he was mentioned by Quint (Robert Shaw) in that Indianapolis story, you kn ow the one who was bitten in half below the waist. Was herbie real and used him in the story plot or another madeup charecter?
