I was thinking the other day about the only surviving character from all four films and his life...that's right: MIKE BRODY We met young mike back when he was roughly 11 or 12. He's a transplant from New York to the small Island of Amity. His father the Chief of Police, his mother a concerned woman, and finally his little brother Sean always looked up to him. Now Mike lived through the events of the the first film where 5 people were killed and we are to believe a dog (poor pippet) by a great white shark (one of which was done right in front of him). This scared the crap out of him and even put him into shock. One would think this would scare a normal person from the ocean for good....But not our Mike Brody! The Next time we catch up to Mike he's about 17 years old and ready to graduate from high school, and he's found the one thing greater than dramamine to cure your fears of the ocean..Hot Girls! Yup he's clearly forgotten about the past because he's not thinking with his brain. We can only assume the other kids, one of which is mayor Vaughn's son who was there for the first films events, would also have a similar fear of the ocean...but nope. Soooo another giant shark shows up, kills a boat, a helicopter and numerous people (i think 6 in total) and his father has to kill another shark. You would think finally MIKE BRODY would be tired of the water. NO!! Not only is Mike Brody not afraid of the water, he decides to become an operations manager at SeaWorld! Which has amazingly set up shop next to the Florida coast and lets their fish come and go as they please, which leads to the biggest Shark yet to wonder into the park. As we witness by Mike's reactions, it's no big deal, there's no trauma. In fact the only trauma in the family that we see at this point is his brother Sean is afraid of the water...until (drum roll please) Leah Thompson (hot chick) relieves his fears because....well she's hot an a girl. I will say on a side note that the shark did do Seaworld a favor by killing the trespassers, but that's another discussion. So another 5 people are dead and finally Mike Brody is finished with the water.... NO!! we find out that Mike Brody has left Seaworld and now is working on his Ph.D in the Bahamas researching Conchs migratory patterns. EVEN after his brother Sean is ripped apart by a shark back at Amity Island, We learned Martin Brody died of a heart attack because of fear of the shark. But Mike continues his research because thats what a good brother/son does! Even after pleas from his wife and mother....he continues on. He even doesnt bring it to authorities attention that a 25 foot great white is in the area and could kill/injure people. That lack of responsibility leads to a woman's death. But MIKE BRODY continues on. Not only did he discover an enormous Great White Shark in warm tropical waters, he discovered that given the right shock treatment an animal with no vocal chords can ROAR! He deserves his Ph.D just for that alone. So what am i getting at her? Mike Brody has no soul! He has been traumatized to the point of not feeling fear. Everyone around him dies...so in summation: Don't be friends with Mike Brody.
