There is a lot of talk today regarding a remake of JAWS in 3-D or otherwise. Personally, I think that both ideas are absurd. No one tries to repaint the Mona Lisa; no one resculpts David or Venus; Why JAWS? Having said that, why not JAWS 3-D remake? The story is pretty good and special effects (especially 3-D effects) are much better tgoday. We don't even need to use the word 'JAWS'. It gives us a good great white shark movie and possibly new franchise! If the studio really got behind it and made it really suspenseful, it could be a lot of fun.
August 3, 2010 at 12:00 pm #6810haha sorry for being dumb, and i am dumb, are you suggesting making JAWS into 3-D or remaking Jaws 3 (3-D)?
Or none of the above?
August 3, 2010 at 2:35 pm #6811I am suggesting a remake of JAWS 3-D. Maybe that makes me dumb! lmfao!
August 11, 2010 at 7:54 pm #6812I too would like to see a Jaws 3 remake lol as long as they have Louis Gossett Jr come back and ask about the damn sharks motha LOL
August 11, 2010 at 8:33 pm #6813I'm not too sure about any of this. I thought Jaws 3 was a real stinker. "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water"- along comes a remake of Jaws 3?
August 12, 2010 at 6:11 am #6814THAT'S why we need a remake! Why remake something that's already good? If it's not good, it needs wsork. No one's done that before. I think that JAWS 3-D is the perfect opportunity.
August 12, 2010 at 11:44 am #6815I have to disagree with Puckbunny.Jaws 3-d was bad because the whole idea of a shark in an aquarium attacking people is absolutaly ridiculous. It's not as if it was a good idea that just wasn't executed well. The whole concept was assinine. So I don't see any reason to make the same mistake twice
August 12, 2010 at 1:48 pm #6816I think its a bad idea but lets be honest, if they made it we would watch it. And who knows, we may like it.
August 12, 2010 at 6:24 pm #6817Hello All
,I think it would be bad idea to remake the film JAWS; because after the 1st one, I don't think U could remake it. The movie was just to good, the whole cast fit like a puzzle. To me it's something I don't think could be pulled off
. If they did decide 2 remake it, I think it would be a travesty to the original. What do U all think?Kris

August 12, 2010 at 8:03 pm #6818All the Jaws sequels were a travesty with the possible exception of Jaws 2. I'd like to see a new Jaws, but if Spielberg can't do it (and he won't) it has to be Peter Jackson. A new Jaws needs someone who can visualize outside of the box, be able to keep the locale and the characters, but bestow a creative, brilliant, new and fresh take on the original story. Alas and Alack, I fear it is impossible to find the likes of a Scheider, or a Shaw in today's Hollywood. To cast this movie talent must be sought as if mining for diamonds and not dependent on a familiar Hollywood face or name. To feel anew what is felt the first time Jaws is seen on that big screen- with the popcorn, and the screams, and the tears and the cheers . Isn't that what we really want?
August 13, 2010 at 9:52 am #6819Maybe they could make a nice Jaws where he helps some dolphins getttin picked on by a killer whale, sorta like the A-team but with a shark.
Yes this is why my career is warehouse based and not Hollywood.
August 13, 2010 at 6:29 pm #6820Hey Every1,
@quitty- I agree with U, I hated the sequels after the 2ND 1. I just thought they were a waste; but I did think the 2ND 1 was good for a sequel back in the day. I don't know if U thought the shark looked too fake in the 2ND like I did or not? I just thought it could have been better,if the shark didn't look so unrealistic
.@ Ukransodoff- I will put my 2 cents in on a remake period, don't do it. There is no way it could top the original 1 and no one could out preform the original cast of JAWS. The last thing I would want 2 happen, is see some numb nut director try a remake of JAWS and screw it up. It would only hurt the original one by making a mockery of it. What do U all think?

August 13, 2010 at 7:45 pm #6821Well, Sharkluver, that's what a new Jaws could give you, a better shark! With today's computer enhanced technology, think what a spruced up Bruce could be. OK, so let's not call it Jaws. Let's have a whole new shark movie done right. New engaging characters, plot, a director who knows how to make it spectacular and actors that know how to act it. But it's got to be on the East coast. Not Florida, or California or Mexico etc. That Eastern seaboard is the place.
August 14, 2010 at 7:01 pm #6822Hey Qitty,
I still think they should pass it up, it's not that I'm against remakes; in fact I think if done right they R really cool. I know movie making has come a long way since the movie JAWS came out; but with all that movie technology a remake can't top the original, it would get close; but no cigar.

August 17, 2010 at 1:53 pm #6823I don't think that JAWS should be touched nor could be touched. What are they going to do? Computer graphic sharks filmed in a tank with a computer graphic AMITY in the background? Please. That's why none of the other shark movies work- they're all fakes. JAWS works because they put in the sweat and tears of making it 'real'. We could do a new version of Gone With The Wind too but we don't and we all know why.
August 17, 2010 at 5:54 pm #6824Puckbunny13- It's true. This movie is what it is and nothing can recreate 1975 and take us back to that time and place which gave us Jaws.
But gosh, isn't it possible that maybe, one day in some way, someone could do something new and great again.August 18, 2010 at 6:43 pm #6825August 22, 2011 at 5:23 pm #9924I would never want a Jaws remake. But a Jaws 3 3-D where the story is better developed. There is too much of a gap between Jaws 3 & Jaws 4. Its almost like Jaws 3 was forgotten and they jumped from Jaws 2 to Jaws 4 (story line wise). Example: Mike Brody’s severe career change. To top it off 3-D is much better now. (the shark wasn’t the only thing that killed that movie)
August 26, 2011 at 7:09 pm #9943For a new Jaws movie, I’d do something a little…different.
