Many moons ago I wondered into one of those cheesy movie memorbilia stores on the Las Vegas strip and I found the holy grail of movie posters. It was of course Jaws, autographed by Schieder, Shaw, Dreyfuss, Spielberg, and Benchly. The scruffy man behind the counter wanted 700 for it. The ol ball and chain was present, and informed me it was a no go.
Being a thinking man, this month I decided I could probably get at least one autograph on my own. With three deceased and one almost impossible to reach I decided to shoot for Dreyfuss.
A google search of his address sent me to this page: http://www.fanmail.biz/2480.html
I decided I'd give it a shot. My next step was purchasing a decent quality picture off of amazon to ask him to sign.
I sent the picture along with a self addressed envelope and a sharpie and this is what I got:

August 24, 2010 at 6:03 pm #7966Hooper That is cool who would have thought that such a direct and simple approach would have got results.I too have always wanted a Jaws poster signed by Benchley Spielberg Dryfuss Schieder and Shaw. That to me would be the ultimate piece of Jaws merchendise.I wonder if a real one actually exists
August 24, 2010 at 10:35 pm #7967Well, it did last time I went in that memorbilia shop! I'd be careful shopping online though. Make sure you actually look up the 'company' that issued the COA if it has one- I bid 250 on a poster that had a COA from a non-existant company. I lost the bid, thank god there are bigger suckers out there than me.
Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women.
August 27, 2010 at 11:40 am #7968I'm seriously thinking about giving this a shot. But, ya know, with my luck…
