The ultimate JAWS documentary, The Shark is Still Working, will premiere May 2, 2009 in Los Angeles at the LA United Film Festival.  Tickets are available now:

There will be two showings, one at 9:45 PM and another at midnight. The filmmakers will be doing introductions and Q&A sessions.

UPDATE: the 9:45 and midnight showings have SOLD OUT. A third showing has been added for 10 AM on May 3rd.

The final step for us was getting approval from Steven Spielberg himself, and we finally got the green light to go ahead with the festival screening.

The documentary is narrated Chief Brody himself, Roy Scheider, whom we were very fortunate to land before his passing.  TSISW features all-new interviews with Steven Spielberg, Richard Dreyfuss, Carl Gottlieb, Joe Alves, and just about any other cast or crew member involved with the making of JAWS, including Peter Benchley, in what was his final interview. We also feature interviews with filmmakers inspired by JAWS, including Kevin Smith, M. Night Shyamalan, Bryan Singer, Robert Rodriguez, Eli Roth, and others. The documentary is about the impact and legacy of JAWS, how it has impacted pop culture, the film industry, and how it has impacted and inspired fans.
